1.1 General Description
Archimedes Geo3D is a software for dynamic geometry in three dimensions (DGS or DRGS) with
the following basic features:
- Dragging: Free objects can be dragged, the rest of the construction changes accordingly.
- Loci (lines and surfaces): The movement of points can be traced and made visible as a
locus-line or a locus surface.
- Macros: Commonly used constructions can be saved as macros. Macros (own and
predifined) can be accessed through the macro-menu, enabling the user to add
functionality to Archimedes Geo3D.
- Expressions: In addition to the usual computations with numbers, Archimedes is
capable of vector-calculus.
The difference to well-known DGS like Geometers Sketchpad, Euklid, Cinderella or KSEG is,
that Archimedes Geo3D works in three dimensions!
If you are already familiar with one of those or similar programs, Archimedes Geo3D will be
easy to learn.
